Office Space |
| |
This is a picture of the same office. We moved the contents to the opposing wall, purchased an L-shaped desk (so the monitor was separate from the shelving area with large work surface beneath), hung shelves from above the desk surface to the ceiling and replaced the file cabinets and chair. By going vertical we were able to find a home for all items without sacrificing work space. |
Her Closet |
His Closet |
|
|
This couple recently built two closets in their master bedroom. The wife needed only half a closet's worth of hanging clothes but lots of room for her shoes and sweaters. So she choose to hang her shoes in a bag and we designated several shelves for her folding clothes. |
After sorting and selecting his clothes, this husband found that he really didn’t have a lot to keep and therefore has plenty of room to grow into his new space. |
Playroom |
|
|
This playroom had only two walls to organize since sliding doors and an entrance to another room monopolized the other two walls to this 8’x12’ room. We reused two cabinets and built a desktop from one wall to the other to accommodate a computer, television and stereo area. Similarly, on the opposite wall we built a library shelf that also runs the length of the wall. After that we maximized the rest of the space by adding two sections of shelving for baskets, toys, games and trinkets. Lastly, we put the Futon on risers so we could slip a couple of rolling bins for more toys underneath the couch. We also removed the coffee table to create a play area for the children.

Basement |

The appliances were staying where the plumbing was with the slop sink in the middle, so we added a cabinet above the washer and dryer for storage of laundry products and cleaning chemicals for the household. We also added shelving underneath the staircase (to the right of the machines) which house catering items for parties, overstock of frequently used items and lastly a basket for a case of paper towels which are always on hand with small children in the home.
